Manuel Beltrán’s list of life changing books.

It’s amazing how certain books can completely change the trajectory of your life. As a kid my mother used to drop me off at the new library that was way outside of town, nothing else out there but desert shrubs and a few gas stations. She did this after she found out I was just walking away from the Boys Club in the city she would drop me off at. I always hated the first 15 minutes of getting to the library, knowing I’d be stuck there for hours on end with nowhere to go. But after the initial anger wore off I found myself exploring this multi-level bastion of books. Those hours changed my life forever. It turned me into a reader. And my life has been so much more of an adventure with them. Here’s a list of some of my favorite books that had a tremendous impact on my life.

1. All of Stephen King’s work up until the mid 90s
